Who needs a swimming pool?

Well, I did it. I braved my fears of snakes and grody water and went swimming in the lake/pond of Camp Moriah. It actually was not grody, and we didn't see any snakes. And it felt sooo good. We invited Eleanor, since she had to go back to MS anyway after Mercy's birthday sleepover, to spend the afternoon at our house. So that's why Eleanor is there. :D It's great living so close now.

Happy Birthday, Sir Arthur!

147 years ago today, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born.

"He was born in Scotland and studied medicine there, eventually serving as a physician in the Boer War (1899-1902). But his fame rests on his creation of the fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. Doyle published his first Holmes tale, A Study in Scarlet, in 1887. Over the following 40 years he published 56 short stories and four novels featuring Holmes and his sidekick, Dr. Watson. Late in life Doyle became closely interested in mysticism and wrote the 1926 book A History of Spiritualism.
Doyle was knighted in 1903 for his services to the crown, including his authorship of the 1902 pamphlet The War in South Africa... Doyle and Dr. Watson have much in common: both are medical doctors, both are writers, and both served in the British Army... According to his New York Times obituary, Doyle was married to the former Louise Hawkins from 1885 until her death in 1906. He was married again to the former Jean Leckie from 1907 until his own death in 1930."

Well...

Sorry, I know I haven't been posting anything of much interest lately. After the graduation, my cousin Luke moved in with us for the Summer, but that's pretty much all that's happened out of the ordinary. I am definitely ready for Harmony Hill, and Camp Moriah, and then hopefully July Boot Camp! Oh yeah, then of course Grace Chapel's July meeting...and I'm sure I'll be going to other meetings and singing schools. So that should keep me pretty busy. Yay.

Have any of you heard of the movie, "An American Haunting"? Tyler, Aaron, Brittany, and I went to see it the day before graduation. It was...okay. One of those exorcist/phsycological movies. I probably wouldn't watch it too many more times. Maybe once, just to get the things I missed.
We also recently rented "A New World". It was...different, definitely. It was about Pocahontas and...well, you know the story. Christian Bale, who played John Rolfe, was the best character, I thought. :) And not just because he's good-looking. haha...

Butwellanyways, I guess this is about as good as it's gonna get. ;) toodles!

Graduation!

Tyler is now officially graduated from Highschool. His speech was very "Tylerish", and of course everyone laughed. :) Brittany's speech, however, was more on the serious side. I have to admit I did tear up on hers. My mom made a slideshow of them growing up, getting where they are today, and that was really cool. Especially the music. Then we GCS kiddos sang a few songs directed by Sis. Melissa. It was tons of fun, except I was losing my voice last night...and today, it's nowhere to be found. Thankfully though, it lasted long enough to get through the songs.

Afterwards, a bunch of us went to Starbucks aka Constellation Currency (thanks Ellie). ;) Tyler went to the wrong Starbucks though, and we had to go over there. But when we finally all got together, we were privileged to hear The Promise sing some for us. Sadly, I didn't have my camera with me then, but I will have pictures of the graduation on here soon hopefully. After Starbucks closed, and we had talked long enough in the parking lot... ;) the Pritchetts, Aaron, and Thomas came home with Tyler and I. We got home around one o'clock or so, and stayed up until two. Then this morning, everyone left. :( But it was fun while it lasted.

2 more years to go until you'll get an invitation to my graduation!! ;)

Lobsters, Greatness, & Pirates

What is your favorite girl's name? I have a ton that I really like. But one name I'm really liking at this very moment is Georgiana. True, a rather old fashioned name, but I think it would be a cool middle name. What do you think?

Quite a bad case of summeritis..

THREE MORE WEEKS!!!! until the students at Poe Academy get out of school.

And what a day that will be, when no more schoolwork I shall see. When I look to my teacher's face, when she'll say "you may erase!" What a day, glorious day that will be.

ahem...that didn't exactly flow very well, but it expresses my thoughts well enough. :) haha
just thought I'd post something besides pictures...or a song... :)

love y'all!!!
